How to clean your iPhone

If you're like most people, when you first buy your iPhone, you will stare at it for many long minutes, admiring its beauty. Then eventually you'll notice the first smudge and panic. You'll want to keep this beauty clean and shiny. And in truth, because this is such a high-end, high-quality electronics device, it's important that you keep it clean so that it will last much longer. Here are some tips for cleaning your iPhone.

First, let's talk about what not to do.

There is no need to go out and buy a bunch of expensive products to preserve it for many years. While one or two of these might be okay, there are other, less expensive options. The best way to keep it clean and functioning for a long time happens to also be one of the cheapest: Just clean it regularly.

So how do you clean it? This intimidates a lot of people because of the touch sreen; many of us don't know how to clean it properly without damaging it.

Before you clean it, make sure you have enough time, and make sure you have the right cleaner. When you're planning to clean the phone, you must take care, which means you shouldn't do it if you're in a rush. If you go too fast, you could damage the phones inner workings or the sensitive touch screen. Also, make sure you have the right cleaning supplies. Some cleaners could damage the phone or cause it to malfunction.

So what are the right things to use for cleaning the iPhone? You need water, a microfiber cloth, and some music to relax to as you're doing the cleaning. Remember: Never use chemical agents to clean your phone. This could be damaging to the processors and cause it to not interact with you properly. Once you have your suppplies, put some of your water in a cup. Dip your microfiber cloth into the water, soaking it...and yet don't use too much water on the device itself. To test the amount of water you have, wipe a corner of a mirror with the cloth. There should be no streaming water drops where you wiped the mirror. If there is not, you probably have the right amount of water for cleaning the iPod. You want to be able to wipe the screen without having drops of water left on the device.

Now, using the cloth, gently wipe the screen up and down. It should take only a couple of wipes to clean the entire surface of the phone.

So how often should you clean the iPhone. It depends on you and how often you use it. On average, expect to clean it once every one to two weeks.
